A Little About Me
My name is Sheehan Planas-Arteaga, and I am a writer. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida, where I attended Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, followed by Barry University. At Barry, I majored in English, with a concentration on Professional Writing. I also played baseball at Barry, which has always been a passion of mine.
I was drafted by the Seattle Mariners after my junior season at Barry, in 2014. I wound up playing professional baseball for four years, before calling it quits at the end of 2017. While I was off chasing my athletic dreams, I began to develop my skills as a writer through freelance work.
After my trip around the bases was over, so to speak, I worked as an executive assistant/copywriter at Gorilla Management Group, a full-service marketing and advertising agency. I later worked as a content writer at Rubber B, a company that makes customs straps for luxury watch brands, as well as a content writer for Global Primex LLC, a FinTech that develops alternative payment methods. I’ve continued to work as a freelancer through the years, writing and editing for multiple publications across various mediums, while operating my own blog, The Peanut Gallery. I now work as a content writer for Foundation Academies, a school system that aims to uplift underserved youth.
This website is a compilation of everything noteworthy that I have written throughout my career as a writer. I hope you enjoy!
